No emotional match report from the Super Coach, he’s gone away! The excitement was obviously too much for him…
His three quarter time speech was evidently another classic and it clearly did the trick. He has coached for 6 years with every year in finals, 5 grand final flags and a 3rd.
Somehow the Reserves boys got up off of the canvas late in the third quarter thanks to some James Krikas magic to draw the game, exactly as they had done at Vermont in Round 17. The time there were two 5 minute periods of overtime to play to decide the flag. Our team was rejuvenated and thanks to a wonderful snap goal by Pat Wallis and another behind we led the first overtime term with the breeze by 7 points.
Balwyn looked tired and our boys were ferocious at every contest in the last term. No one scored, the Eagles were Premiers!
Final scores
Vermont 6.7 43
Balwyn 5.6 36
