NEW LIFE MEMBERS ANNOUNCED

There were eight successful nominations for Life Membership at the recent Annual General Meeting.  The following club members were awarded Life Membership:

John McCarthy – 8 years on Senior Committee 2005-2012; General Committee member for three years, Executive Member for 5 years from 2008 to 2012.  

Jeff Rudd – 10 years Coaching (2nd most in club history); U16’s 2004 & 2004; U19’s 2005 & 2006; 6 years Reserves Coach 2006 to 2013 – Premiers 2012 & 2013.

Anthony “Pants” Panou – runner for 9 years, including 6 Senior Grand Finals with 4 Premierships. 

Bruce Brunton – Senior Player 1979 to 1990 for 151 games; Seniors leading goal kicker 3 times; Senior B&F Winner 3 times; Premiership player 3 times; EFL Chandler Medalist 1986; Premiership Captain 1986.  Reserves Coach 1990.       

Sam Ward – was as part of the Junior Executive in the position as Junior Registrar for 8 years, from 2011 until 2018 (the longest period anyone has held an Executive position in the history of the junior club).  Sam was a team manager from 2011 to 2014 and has been a qualified trainer for either or both of her sons teams throughout their junior careers since 2014 and this commitment continued on through to U19 level in 2019.  

Steve Bain – was on the Junior Committee for 6 years from 2010 to 2015 and was as part of the Junior Executive for five years from 2011 to 2015 – one year as Vice President in 2011 and four years as President from 2012 and 2015.  Steve was a team manager in 2009 and was then either a Coach or Assistant Coach of either of his son’s teams every year, from 2010 through to 2017.  

Kylie Roberts –  was on the Junior Committee for seven years from 2012 to 2018 and was as part of the Junior Executive for six years from 2013 to 2018 in the position as Secretary (the longest period anyone has held the Secretary’s position in the history of the junior club).  Kylie has provided support to the club since 2010, including Team Manager roles, right up to coordinating our U17/18 Gala night in 2019. 

Clint Wheeler –  was on the Junior Committee for seven years from 2013 to 2019 and was as part of the Junior Executive for six years from 2012 to 2019 – two years as Vice President in 2014 & 2015 and four years as President from 2016 to 2019.  Clint was a major driving force behind the introduction of girls football to our club and also helped set up and manage the club’s first Senior Women’s team for the first two years of the team’s existence.  Clint has supported the club since 2011, as team manager in U9s & U10s and coaching in U11s, U12s & U13s
